Carrier Sales Manager – Tampa, FL (On-Site)

 

Objective:

The Carrier Sales Manager will be an integral part of a Logistics company’s operation onsite in Tampa, Florida. As a Carrier Sales Manager, you will lead and grow their carrier account team while also providing exceptional service for our customers. You will work to map out current customer opportunities, ensure that service expectations are being exceeded, identify opportunities for further account penetration and growth and assist with cost savings and pricing. Additionally, you will be responsible for executing company strategy related to domestic truckload freight movement and help to refine that strategy for scalability and effectiveness.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and coach your team to ensure company expectations and individual goals are met and manage underperformance as necessary.
  • Conduct weekly 1:1’s to effectively coach and motivate your team through their performance KPI’s and metrics, individual goals, and career-pathing conversations.
  • Provide daily coaching and support to the carrier sales team, including working through and resolving escalations.
  • Drive and manage an effective carrier pipeline across your team to strategically expand our carrier portfolio.
  • Manage load volumes and work with your team on execution: posting loads, sending rate cons, tracking loads, and closing out loads for on-time billing.
  • Make outbound calls and generate new leads.
  • Closely collaborate with Account Management and Customer Sales teams to align with top customers to ensure exceptional service performance and expand our dedicated and contract volumes across carrier portfolio.
  • Lead and empower your direct reports to negotiate offers and work closely with the sales team to provide pricing guidance upon request.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve carrier sales productivity and overall carrier experience.
  • Bring energy, passion, and a positive attitude to your department.
  • Evaluate and drive opportunities for automation tools into the sourcing, tendering, and pricing process.

  • 2-4 years’ experience managing a team is preferred.
  • 2 years of carrier sales experience in FTL freight brokerage is required.
